It is set to 60 in/lbs torque to ensure the clamps are tightened fully and evenly across the entire connector surface.

How It Works

  • The wrench is placed on the screw of the take-up clamp and turned (clockwise) until proper torque is reached.
  • A “cracking” sound can be heard when the wrench has reached its proper torque value of 60 in/lbs.

Why It's Better

  • Prevents over or under torqueing of take- up clamp screws.
  • Certified and calibrated tool ensures proper tightening.
  • Eliminate searching for special screw heads because the screw head is built in.
  • No need for battery or electrically operated drills or screw guns on job sites.
  • Rugged construction for durability in real- life installation procedures.

Why It's Needed

The stainless steel take-up clamps used in Press-Seal connectors are used to complete the sealing system. They must be installed to the proper tightness but should not be over-installed or damage may result.

It is impossible to “guess” the tightness of a clamp. Only a calibrated tool can ensure that the clamp is properly installed.
