Love the PSX: Direct Drive but need a precast product instead? Press-Seal’s Cast-A-Seal (CAS) 12-08 is an integrally cast pipe-to-manhole connector that simulates all the best qualities of our flagship Direct Drive in an equally as simple form factor.
Equipment Needed for Installation
The CAS 12-08’s entire assembly only requires four simple pieces:
- Rubber connector
- Mandrel with a positive assembly point
- Casting ring (which comes in different colors for different sizes)
- Magnet (for securing the assembled pieces to the manhole form)
Installation Instructions
Once you obtain the necessary equipment, you’re ready for install!
- All Cast-A-Seal installations require the user to fold the gasket and assemble it on the mandrel first. Fold the CAS 12-08 gasket in one of two ways:
- Two-Step Method: Pull the gasket’s throat all the way through its center. Then, fold the throat inward again.
- One-Fold Method: Fold the gasket’s throat as you pull it through its center.
- Tuck the folded gasket into the cavity of the mandrel. Ensure the side of the gasket’s rim featuring molded writing faces the inside of the mandrel.
- Locate the casting ring. A “positive point” is located at its 12-o’clock position—line this up with the “positive point” in the mandrel to ensure the casting ring and mandrel will follow the arc of the manhole wall.
- Slide the magnet through the center of the components to secure everything to the core of the manhole form.
